Description

Hi all. Thanks for the comments on my previous pieces.. This one is slightly different. It's based on what happened yesterday so yes, I am at least 10 years older and six shades greyer! Have a really great weekend to one and all. ************************************ Oh no! Where is my school bag? I know I put it here with my other two sports bags when I started cricket. It's not here! Someone has taken it. Or did I leave it some where else? No, I am sure I had it here with the others. I even remember taking out the school ID badge to put it into my sports bag. My stomach feels sick. Oh no. I'd better rush to look upstairs in case someone put it there. I mustn't miss the bus home though, mum will kill me. Oh no, I can't find it anywhere!!!! I'm really beginning to shake. Those stupid boys at Cricket must have taken it. The security guy says he hasn't seen any bags anywhere. Damn! Shit! I've missed the b-b-bus. They couldn't even wait for me. N-n-now I'm all a-a-alone here in another town that's too far to walk home. Mom is really going to kill me! What am I supposed to do now? Wait - there's Keaton. I know he's got a cell phone. Let me ask him to phone my mom. "Hey Keaton! Someone's stolen my bag and I missed the bus while looking for it. Can you phone my mom and tell her I'm here?" "Sure Chris. Here, you dial." Come on mom. Answer your phone....... Mom!!! Answer!!!! "There's no reply. Let me try again in case it is at the bottom of her bag and she can't hear it." Mom, mom, mom. Pick up the phone...... MOM, PICK UP THE PHONE!! "Hey Chris, I've got to catch my lift. I have to go.. Sorry buddy. Hope you find your bag." "Sure, thanks Keaton. If my mom phones please let her know where I am?" "OK." Now I am really alone. What did mom tell me to do if I ever missed the bus? Oh yes, stay by the school. She should know by now that I'm not on the bus. What if she doesn't see me? Or goes down the wrong road? I know, I'll wait by the crossroads just up from the school. I will definitely see her then. What is she going to do? Damn!!! All my books were in the bag. Oh wait, most of them are still in my locker. But I can't do my homework now.. Maybe that's a good thing... At least my lunchbox was in my sportsbag so I can eat... Whew! She's still not here.... I know, let me sing the hymns in the back of my school book. That should waste a bit of time... Ok, so she's still not here yet. I must stay here. She told me to wait and not walk home... COME ON MOM!!! Hey! That looks like her car! Yes.. YES.... YESSSSS!!! Damn, she's crying....But then I am too. I hope none of my friends see me......
