Description

First, I want to thank flavia49 for allowing me to use one of her marvelous photographs of Venice as a background for this render. The next afternoon, as was his usual habit, Mr. Smith 'appeared' at my doorstep. I had the door opened and waved him into the front room where I had a nice little snacking lunch prepared. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon, reflecting on the pleasures of the previous nights events at the cafe and how splendidly the meal had been prepared and served. I told Mr. Smith about my dream during the night, and about the strange and handsome but jealous looking merman in the background. Mr. Smith asked what he looked like. After my brief description, astrange and mysterious look came over him. He didn't aks anymore about my dream, nor did he seem to want to talk about it. Fortunately, it didn't interfere with the enjoyable time we spent visiting and lunching on my little snacks. As the afternoon drifed on towards evening, Mr. Smith mentioned in passing that he had to return to Venice, Italy, in a few days for business and wondered if I would like to accompany him as a guest and friend. It would only be overnight or two days at the most. He knew of a splendid little 'Ristorante', off the beaten path, that he had enjoyed many delightful times in. I don't usually do things like this on the spur of the moment, but that winning smile Mr. Smith was giving me helped make up my mind in the affirmative. Mr. Smith said not to worry about a thing, he would take care of all the details. Just show up with enough baggage in whatever I could get in a backpack and meet him at the airport, which, again, was only a short walk from my beachfront home. After Mr. Smith left, my head was spinning from thinking about this future event. Fortunately, I had traveled a bit recently and had a valid passport. But I had never been over to Italy. My God! What was I thinking? I don't even know this guy! But then I would think of his mesmerizing green eyes and all negative thoughts would just drain out of my head. That night, I had another water adventure with Mr. Smith. We were mermen again, only this time, we were swimming up and down the canals of Venice, playing tag and hide-and-go-seek. We were having the most marvelous and enjoyable time with each other, before I knew it, the morning sunlight was shining in my eyes. Time to take care of some details of my own before I left with Mr. Smith.

What great work you made! The two mermen diving and playing in the Grand Canal (Canal Grande) are very handsome and very well posed! The foam in their finns is great! I'm waiting for more! The palace in the background on the right is Ca' Foscari the most important palace of the Foscari family (many Doges and chieftans and very welty too, also famous for the George Byron's tragedia The two Foscari and for the Giuseppe Verdi's opera) . Now it's the main building of the University of Venice of Economics and Foreign Linguages where my sister Sandra got her degree.
