nice photo - i like the solitary fisherman and how he is silhouetted by the reflection of the sunset - a classic shot. The square crop does it no justice though (imo), maybe a portrait crop would get rid of some redundant space and improve on the composition.

A quite serene photo, my friend. Simple, well spotted, and timeless. With the sun going down so quickly, he or she had better hurry on, or at least light their lantern... ;o) The square crop is unusual, but my brother recently came across some late 1950's negatives, believed to be from an old Hasselblad camera, used by a local newspaper. Their negatives would not quite fit in his Canon scanner's holder for negatives and 35mm slides, but he did his best with them, and distributed them round the extended family. They are interior and exterior family portraits. Nothing as breathtaking / heartwarming as this exotic shot, but there must be hundreds of thousands of old negatives out there. My father's old Brownie, and my father-in-law's must have taken many over the years, but scarcely even a handful of small photos are now left. At least on RENDEROSITY many more get to view them, and downloading them, maybe use them for a desktop background, or card project. Enjoy your Christmas, and thanks for sharing this image, my friend, John.
