Description
Just a bit of mucking around with Summer, Photoshop, and NIK filters...
The Girls convinced Summer to do a shoot (not that it was difficult to do... Summer is NOT shy at all...). She enjoyed it so much she almost missed the Pizza (Pete-sa?) party with Kinnie and the Girls. More coming soon... Oh, Summer said to give T. Rex a big hug for her!
The floor and background wall are scans of a piece of plywood, and the round window is a frame from Filter Forge. The background photo is one of mine. There is also a full color version of this if anyone would like to see it. I just thought the B&W looked pretty cool.
I'm doing more writing on the T.N.A. story today, and will start putting together the next page tomorrow or Wednesday. Thanks for all the great comments on Page 12! You all rock!

WOW! Is that my girl? Stunning job, Rod! I bet she's very happy with this. T. Rex certainly is! Now I have to find the color version. The make-up really brings out her face. And the dress just barely hides her bare-ness topside. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more. :-)
Was to the dentist this morning - he repaired a deep hole (good guy! No extraction!), and without anesthesia - didn't hurt at all! :-)

I love how you used scans of plywood and all the other odds and ends you assembled to make this piece. Your design sense is paramount in these single portraits, and the rushing intense grain of the wood works perfectly as a passionate backdrop to Summer's intense, vexing gaze. In b and w, you bring out the chrome-like sheen of her hair and the trim on her dress. And on her stockings and even on her skin. You don't do pure black and white that often---at least since I've been commenting here---and you do it with real flare. And the contrasting direction of the grain (floor vs wall) adds real drama to this. Beautiful work. This is stunning, Rod.
(And I neglected to mention your Janis reference---"Oh lord, please give me a mercedes benz": Loved it. And I was duly impressed with how much of my rambling narrative you riffed off of. Makes an artist feel "seen"---many thanks!)
