Description

From the partiallly recoverd logs in the hulk of the USS Atlantis: "Starlog, date unknown. Of interest is the planet Telluria orbiting a binary system in the Cygnus cluster. The system is comprised of an F class star and an oddly bright Red Dwarf star. Telluria or Telluria of the Red Dwarf as the Humanoid population calls their home, is the fourth planet in the system. The indigenous population is divided into four distinct cultures with the dominant and most prosperous, the Tells have reached the level of a semi industrial society yet with strange advances in metallurgy, aeronautics and electromagnetism. We still haven't understood how they produce the alloy to build the enourmous pipes seen throughout the planet. The pipes are, according to the local saying "the blood and lungs of Telluria". They are more exactly part of a complex pressure control system . Every 74.65 earth years the very eccentric orbit of Telluria brings the planet at the periapsis or closest point with the Red Dwarf (called locally Licosis, some sort of mythological demon), at which point the enormous gravitational and tidal forces can, and once did, tear apart the planetary crust. The Tells or their ancestors devised a channel and piping system to control both the flow of the rising magma and the incredible energy released by such mouvement. It is an amazing ingeneering feat that saved the planet and it's societies. We recommend further observation and consideration for a future diplomatic mission." Just having fun with the story! Poser Pro, Vue 7 Xtreme, Photoshop. Thanks for looking, Dan
