I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Wow! That's awesome! And looks so much like some of the badlands formations in the American southwest. If I knew where this place was (if it's not a terrain of your imagination), I'd look to stop by there on my next trip wherever.

I do like the transition of the rock colors here especially just underneath the overhang and transitioning into the brownish above, Very, Very Nice !!!

A W E S O M E work Bob. This one is absolute brilliant. I Love the minimalistic background the rock itself is impressive enough. Great and interesting strukture in the stone, nice overhangs. Very good coloration of the surface, the green vegetation is smooth and realistic and a good contrast to the hard white chalk. The low light from the right side is great, give the scene a peacefulness. For me perfect in every aspect.

Sometimes things run smoother Bob, after a little spring cleaning! Glad you're back. These bluffs are fantastic! They have a "Mediterranean" feel too. Like Gibralter or parts of Greece.
