This is Starbase Nine. It's not very pretty but it is efficient. There are six levels, four levels are used to fuel ships, fill supplies and water. Lonely, lost ships find their way to Starbase Nine in the darkness of night and some ships park there and stay there for years until their ships are fully restored and functioning. It's a lonely place, somewhat isolated and out of the way. Due to so many ships being lost in that sector of space, the international federation of planets, decided to place a starbase there to guide the lost, lonely and misfortunate ones in the right direction. The starbase can house and repair approximately 20 ships at one time on the four refueling stations. Five ships per station, per floor. That seems to work out perfectly because every month, there are any where from 10 to 15 ships that make a stop for supplies, directions or repairs to Starbase Nine. It's efficient, clean, quiet. Strangers passing in the night. The light off to the side of the starbase is a pulse beacon, a satellite pulse, communication unit, throughout the galaxy. The large tubes that run up and down the central area of the starbase are filled with fuel and water. In a place where people disappear and die very quickly in the dark regions of space, it's nice to have an emergency starbase nearby for repairs, supplies and directions when your lost. A gathering place for lost souls trying to get their lives together and find their way home.
