Description

Greetings all. The title on this one may seem a bit cryptic. I think our European friends may have a bit of an advantage in figuring it out. Although Google does wonders for those that would like to join in on fun of "why did this guy name it Staglieno". In three days time I will reveal the answer. That is if my memory is still that good, or someone asks. I hope that what is going on in the image will be personally inviting to each of you. I would love to hear what the render evokes in you. I also don't mind mail messages if someone wants to talk. I love each of you and wish all of you peace...Dag 8/3/16 Reveal: DarkPhoriaDark got it. Genoa is full of amazing treasures but the Staglieno cemetery is absolutely unique. So many awesome sculptures are found there. Google it if you can't visit. Also a special thanks to QXI who helped me fix an arm problem in the original. I have since re-posted the fixed version.

It's beautiful! It looks like she is praying to someone (-thing).

I am glad that is what you see. What you see is often what influences you to take your next step and in your case I do hope prayer is something that brings you enlightenment and comfort. This one is intended for you to be the teller of the story. Thank you for commenting.

I'm not great with symbolism - too pragmatic. Knowledge lights the world?

daggerwilldo

4:48PM | Sun, 31 July 2016

That is a wonderful interpretation of its meaning to you. Exactly what I hoped for, for the viewer to be the story teller. Thanks for stopping by.

She looks remorseful and looking for atonement. She has lost the way to the light. Beautiful Dag. Fantastic. My fav.

You have hit on a thought that is universal to most of mankind. Reflecting on your past and wanting to make wrongs become right means you are growing spiritually. Yesterday is a room that is now closed forever. I do believe that when we pray for atonement the Creator is the only one that can and will change our wrongs to right in that room. Though we cannot reopen that door, the one who made us can. That is a fond hope of one who has committed many wrongs and wants to make things right.

This is beautiful ..but I feel sadness it's like she's trying to help with broken hearts and unfairness

daggerwilldo

Judging from that emotion, I bet you have in you a heart the size of Texas. To see this comment says to me that you have compassion and love of others deeply ingrained in you. I meant this render to be for the viewer to tell the tale. I am both inspired and touched by yours.

It seems to invoke a sense of sorrow or loss. Beautiful work.

Yes, the source of this render , which I will soon reveal, evoked that feeling in me. I wanted to pass it on in my attempt to honor, with my penance, that which created me.

Very much part of what I wanted to convey. We to often take for granted the gifts we have. And then...they are no more. I am trying to learn to live life with a grateful attitude for every good moment I am given.

She is very sad. She knows she has strayed and now she is trying to find her way home. Hmmmmm, maybe it is me in another realm of reality.

I like this, a very sad expressive scene!!! Watch your over extending on the left arm. Utilize moving the left collar joint to eliminate issues.

daggerwilldo

4:02PM | Mon, 01 August 2016

Thank you for commenting. Yes this has a sense of sadness. If I could I would ask the source of this render "Why are you sad and what can I do to help you lift that burden?" Also, thank you for your technical comment. I am going back to the original and play with what you suggested.

Indeed had to google to get the title placed. Lots of angels there, and she's definitely not one of them. Since you asked: maybe she regrets not being on the light side? Very good render, interesting wings.

Thank you Dear Ute. You seem to be kind to all. Sadness-what a topic. We are saddened by so much beyond our control. As we grow, we are saddened by things we have done. As one commentator notes, our only real choice is to grow from our mistakes, and to exhibit compassion for all good hearts around us. For those with not so good hearts, we can only do so much to bring them to the light but we should at least try.

Judging from her posture, she is deep in concentration, striving to raise the dead. The book, the candle and the stone all evoke an idea of dark magic about to take place. What better place to raise an army. Reading a comment about remorse....I think while it's important to "count one's regrets", it's more important to move on and strive to be better. Every day is an opportunity for new beginnings.

daggerwilldo

1:53PM | Mon, 01 August 2016

I love that you see magic in this one. Many believe that magical things are within our reach. And s o many on here bring us magical events daily that move from their minds to their renders. I so wish I had the time to see and comment of every render here. I hope they all find what they seek. You're wise to understand the past is a closed door and all we can do in the now is strive to be loving and compassionate to those with good hearts. Thank you for viewing.

Interesting to read all of the comments prior to mine. She does have an attitude of prayer. However, her wings and attire would suggest she is from the 'dark side'. For some reason it reminds me of the Nina Gordon song "Tonight and the Rest of my Life". I love that song!😄

daggerwilldo

7:29PM | Mon, 01 August 2016

Thanks for the song tip, I am going to look it up this evening. You have seen the duality I intended. The duality was not in the original source which I will reveal tomorrow. However, in my rendition, that nature of mankind crept in. I don't believe there are to many among us that are purely dark or light. I believe most of us come out Gray in the end. You can probably see that in my works. I should have a flag that says 'dark side' and another that says 'light side'. That way at least you would know to click on the thumbnail or not.

I know many people do not like about cemeteries ... I, however, have always loved the cemeteries. Especially the old in the big cities. Vienna also has a beautiful cemetery. The Central Cemetery. There you can visit Ludwig van Beethoven and Johannes Brahms ...

Beautiful and very touching Render. Fabulous, Dag!
