Description

Just to give you an idea of the size difference of the chick and the mom. I took this on day 4. He is quite the spoiled little guy. I was up late in the evening, just before sundown. He was in his usual mood of "I am starving"! Mom would try to eat a few bites, but as soon as he gobbled up a bite he was letting her know that he needed more. The male brought another fish while I was there. The little prince was very sleepy, but would not give up. His head would drop, much like a sleepy child. He would then jerk up and yell again. After about 45 minutes of this, he became quite. As I was watching him, he simply fell over! It was all I could do not to laugh out loud. The little prince was sound asleep. Mom very gently moved over him and sat down oh so carefully. It would seem that animals like it when their children finally go to sleep just as we do. When she decided that he was indeed asleep, I could see her relax all over. I bid her good nite and left the family in peace. I just hope the little darling did not want a midnight snack!

What a beautiful photo! The majestic mom and the active little fluff-ball! I bet it will grow up to become a real big one, being alone about food and attention! Keep up the good work! :-)

PS - I was hit with a nasty boot virus Friday evening. I've just now gotten mt home computer to work again.

Kitty had her annual exam and shot at the Vet Hospital on Friday. Saturday she was under the ice and attacked me viciously when I went to pet her. Despite clipped claws they went through my shirt sleeves! Glad her claws were clipped! Then she slept all Saturday and Sunday. She seems normal today.
