Description

One disturbing thing about Johannesburg is the prevalence of armed private security guards. The security guard in this scene is G2 Kelvin, with Cyllan's amazing Darrian skin, and a face created in the Poser face room. His uniform is the G2 male police outfit from Content Paradise, with the shirt retextured. The lobby is in my free stuff. The receptionist is V4 with a skin by Syltermermaid (I think it is called Nicky), and her outfit is Lavender from 9MBi. Building textures created in Genetica.

Whenever I come over to your gallery and get caught up with the story, it's such a treat! I love reading several in one sitting. Your story line is simple and clear, your images are just right, and the format is easy to follow. You're doing such marvellous work, Nanette! I'm enjoying it very much!

Thank you for the wonderful comments. I am feeling very sorry for Sipho at the moment too. Better things must start happening for him soon!

in the Philippines every business has armed guards as most of Mexico. even here many businesses has extensive security guards. too bad that things are so dangerous. last year I was waiting in line at a bank and an armor car service arrived. just inside the door there was a black man simply waiting for his companion to take care of bank business.when the hot shot armor guard came in he held his hand on his gun, like he was ready to draw. it made me nervous as well the man near the door.I would have said something but he did have a gun -haha! your render expresses something that is a common way of life now

What is the accepted way to look for a job, per the security guards, then? Injustice seems to be rife in this world... :-/

With unemployment in South Africa at around 25% of the working age population, companies simply can't deal with the number of job seekers. Last year I advertised for a receptionist and I got over 1000 applicants, and that was with restricting applications to online, email and fax, and applying a cut-off date for accepted applications. Nobody will consider an unsolocited application, let alone give a walk-in applicant the time of day, because the moment you accept an application, the applicant acquires the same labour rights as an employee. If you then don't appoint the person for some reason that could be construed as unfair, you could be charged with unfair dismissal, for which the maximum compensation is two years' salary for the job in question.
