This is Inter-Island Airways aircraft no. 2 taxiing to end of the dirt runway at Maalaea, Maui. It will make a 180 deg. turn and make a take off run taking advantage of the prevailing trades which blow right to left.
Background is recent photo of where the strip would have been with a highway cloned over with the highway shoulder in Corel Photo Paint. Photo was projected frontally on a "cyclorama" in C4D. The S-38 sits on the horizonatal part of the cyclorama. Tried matching the sun position to match the photo but the resulting shadows looked bad. Maybe I'll go back and take a photo to match the rendered shadows.
The Poser 4 low rez folks in the plane are the only commercial meshes used.
This render update incorporates the suggestions of strata (dirtier plane) and vbaretto (flatten tires).

Thanks for the comments. tallpindo: note that the mechanic next to the pilot is looking over that engine after noticing the same irregularity in the beat. He's thinking dirty plugs or maybe worn timing gears but not to worry, this thing will fly on one engine.
