Description
This artwork is for a "space opera" book cover, which is why there's specific areas for text. I love reading space opera, where the story spans star systems, even galaxies sometimes. Here I imagined an empress, perhaps mourning the passing of her father and contemplating the responsibilities that are now hers: the safety and protection of so many worlds, so many people. Space opera is more about culture and families, rather than technology, and the cultures are often preserved or derived from "old Earth." Here I wanted to portray undertones from India in the character.
