Description

Jaws. A Sand Tiger Shark shown patrolling its watery habitat, captured back on 5/26/2011, at the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific in beautiful Long Beach, California. Come to think of it, what a boring existence. Round and round, back and forth, etc. The Sand Tiger Shark is a relatively large species of shark that inhabits continental shelves and reefs to a depth of approximately 620 feet in subtropical and temperate waters worldwide. The diet of the sand tiger is composed mostly of bony fishes such as herrings, eels and bluefishes, among others. Crustaceans, squid and even smaller sharks are occasional prey. Despite its name it is not related to the Tiger Shark, but instead to the Great White Shark.
