Description

More captures from me and my Schnuckels magical and favorite place love avatar Castle Schlosseck History: Castle Schlosseck, written Schloßeck is a Stauffer [1] castle that was built on the site of the 9-10. Century dating system. It is hard Castle, a district of Bad Dürkheim in Rhineland-Palatinate, on the Isenachtal on a spur of the Rahnfels. About the castle lacks any documentary evidence and her original name is unknown. The name is a Schlosseck postmedieval volksmündliche tradition. The oldest remains of buildings dating back to the 9th or 10th century and go back to an early medieval stronghold (see Heidenlöcher, Waldschlössel). In the early 13th century [1] one High medieval building was erected. Given the territorial relationships at this time the Count of Leiningen may be accepted as clients. Archaeological excavations revealed that she still in the same century, fell victim to a fire, but was inhabited in the 14th century still. Christian Mehlis, 1879 First conducted excavations on the site. The castle portal was in 1883 [1] until 1884, built from found a new way. From 1988 [1] to 1989, conservation measures were made to the castle. Since 1963, the plant belongs to the state Schlösserverwaltung Rhineland-Palatinate. Stauffer, the Castle is inspired by the early Middle Ages probably originally elongated oval facility. Against the mountain side, this was shortened by a straight moat, to be inspired the foundation of a three-meter high curtain wall. In the shield wall the basement of a pentagonal 8.5 meters wide and 11.5 meters long donjon intersects with a wall thickness of 2.5 meters. In addition, rises the reconstructed castle portal with reliefs of eagles, just as they are found even at the gates of the Erkenbert ruin in Frankenthal and the Worms Cathedral to. The low wall heights and the lack of construction debris and other components (particularly a Palas) suggest that the castle was never finished and only temporarily inhabited in a provisional state.
