Interesting shot! a few thoughts crossed my mind as to how to say this, ie really crappy image, etc., but I won't.

Well... something is dropping. Or IS it a dropping?!? A giant bird dropping... Is this another joke? I miss the insects, Jeroen. Show us what you'd really like to display in your gallery. The experiments should be in the forum.

LMAO! Is that really a turd? If it is, someone or someTHING is getting plenty of fiber. I like the DOF.

OK I'm not holding back!! Again, this doesn't work for me! If the image was a detailed macro of the dropping, I am sure it would be full of interesting textures, etc!!! However, the upper part of the image and the very near foreground (for me) is too large a percentage of the total area to be out of focus - so it distracts the eye. Would love to know what type of creature dropped this!! Maybe a rabbit? Bring back your wonderful macros of insects and I'm looking forward to one of the kittens playing together!

Eh.. OK..You really need feedback, but I am afraid I cannot do that without laughing of your picture..lol.. SEriously, what made you decide to post en turd on RR? The picture, well it show lots of emptiness I think. I think a closer look at the turd.. yaghhhh, would have resulted in a better picture, but I know that also is a matter of taste.. taste.. yaghhh.. well you know what I mean.. Have to stop now..

@Odie, SouthBeachPhoto, and Gabrielsdream: It's a rabbit dropping ;) Of course the subject isn't all that, but I really like the contrast between the focus on the dropping and the out-of-focus rest of the image. Also, the patterns in the DOF are really appealing to me :) Thanks all for your comments ! :)

Only Ronnie could come up with a title like this lol :o)..There is to much background to make this image work and I think it detracts from what you were taking the picture of .The contrast in the foreground and turd itself would of made a better composition ie cropping out a lot of the background and focusing more on the object . Now if I had not seen "Rule Of Turds" I might have thought it was a truffle and they are edible! Hehe. Well if it had steam coming off it we may had a reason to hold our noses but then again that would have added to movement, I agree with most that say a great depth of field and the texture around it is wonderful and I like it's solitary position perhaps waiting for a "Dung Beetle" to roll it on through to the next evolutionary process. A very nice macro indeed. Peter

I think it's wonderful! Beautiful composition and DOF works very well. No disgusting feelings about that ball of grass.
