Roxy 60 Minutes Competition - HDRi Light by MartiniquePL ()
The last trial with the same lightning conditions. The same hdri light for octane and luxrender. The same textures with displacement made by Scooby37 - Roxanne character
What is interesting: Octane made almost 1000 samples more with displacement, when Luxrender didn't show any visible results. The skin is smooth and dollish, probably it's more workout needed than simple importing the shader from Poser.
Next one: shadows and lights on right are very soft and not so dramatic like in Octane.
There were no any manipulations or film response, just clear render.
In my humble opinion better (more realistic) effect is on the left, however it is quite clear better preparing of scene will get better results in both cases.
Thank You for stopping and previous comments.

More than anything I think it is a matter of mastering the subtleties of each individual render engine. You can even throw IRAY into the mix. Pick one and just go with it. I chose IRAY and I keep learning something new everyday (LOL). I do like your comparisons, though. Good job.
There is a little problem with IRAY, because I don't use DAZ Studio and according my philosophy (I disagree with DAZ politic against Poser users) I will never use IRAY, however I can see it's very nice engine and effects are very good. I hope to add in very short time renders made by Superfly from new Poser (adopted Cycle). :)

I like the one on the left too. I only wish I had Octane to play around with. :) nice work in both cases though.

I have to say the Reality renders are more pleasing to me. They have a "warmness" that appeals to my vision of the world.

The octane render looks of course better, as you rendered it with redspecsss shader and the reality render with just the standard textures! It's comparing apples with pears...I own both Octane and Reality, the results are IMO really comparable when you apply the best available shaaders.
Thank You for Your comment :). I release comparing without adequate shaders is kind of non-sense, although I wanted to see on my own eyes how luxrender uses GPU now. But! But btw. if You can send me adress of reasonable good shaders or the scheme of theme for reality I'll be really owe to You. :). Yes, I am lazy, I know.
