Description

At last I found the time to finish my car. This is (should be) the legendary 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88. In spring 1951 Jackie Benston and Ike Turner recorded an excellent Rhythm & Blues song about this car. A small Western Swing band: "Bill Haley & His Saddlemen" recorded this song too. Exactly this blend of Rhythm & Blues and Western Swing/Hillbilly music was called "Rock and Roll" a short time later. Some people say "Rocket 88" was the first Rock 'n' Roll song ever. Very close to the "original". Did you make this with pictures for reference, or did you have measures to work from? There is something with the curves in the backside, that seem a bit too square for me. http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Oldsmobile/olds-1950-1960.html has some pictures with the same point of vies. Anyhow it is a good car you made.
