This plucky little Bullfinch was captured last month at a local wildlife reserve near Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
The British Bullfinch is a quiet, secretive but heavily built finch that usually spends its time among the branches and dense undergrowth of woodlands. Bullfinches usually feed on insects, berries and seeds. In keeping with its quiet nature, the Bullfinch's song is a quiet warble. However, you are more likely to hear its call, which is a piped "phew".
I have slightly altered the levels here and boosted the saturation a bit as well as a little dodge and burn and the addition of a subtle vignette to help accentuate the bird.
Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcome and valued!

There was no cropping done Mark. If anything regarding composition then I left too much head-room and should have captured the bottom of the stick which is just missing and would probably have added far more to the image - I put this down to bad personal camera work
