About 35 years ago I was making plastic aircraft kits and now I get to make them with a computer!
Anyway, This in progress P47-M started was started some time ago and gets a bit added here and there when time and mood allows. The tutorial/guide for a P47-D by bazze (http://www.colacola.se/wip_p47.htm) was a great source of inspiration.
Seen here about 30% complete with the main structure more or less finished and at the adding detail stage before I mess it up with some texturing.
All the usual moving parts will be included. The cowl cooling flaps all work too, controlled by using expresso which via a null object operates them at the same time.
Modelled in Cinema4D and preview rendered with Maxwell Render with all materials currently used also developed in Maxwell.

Very cool! Had the opportunity recently to talk to an old pilot of one of those aircraft who had flown in Europe in 1944-45. The old fellow had some very interesting stories.
