Description

Maybe I should have called this "Devil's Canyon" because I had to put up a "hell of a fight" ,I think the expression is, to get those strata right and keep the displacements in check. This one only took 17 hours for the final render to complete whereas the first "final" version took 78 hours to render, caused by some out-of-control displacements. Credits: Pines by Wally, ferns by Klas and grass by lightning (the first two still available at the Planetside forum as free objects IINM) Thank you for viewing and comments, Andy

Fine work, like the complexiity and the way the light interacts with the strata is excellent

Great job on the strata & lighting!! Glad to see I'm not alone on the long renders. Atmo and lighting can cause this too. Just did one and it took 48 hours and not sure I'm even happy with it. LOL

Very cool. Love the plants, view, angles and lighting. The rock seems a bit light and not enough color deferenciation (sp?). It reminds me of honey or a giant honey comb for some reason...still, an excellent use of Terragen!!!

You've done really well to sculpt that slate-like strata; the colouring of the rock is, shall we say, an acquired taste. But Great render overall.

ok, 78 hours to render?? You have GOT to have a powerful computer! I think the rocks are gorgeous - still love the fact that you can add vegetation with this program - it looks as though this might actually be a real place?
