Description

This shot was taken tuesday this week, he looks a little like the last one in my gallery but that one was taken two months ago. He was streaching his legs and wings and looking around. He didnt seem to mind me being there at all. Zoom for detail :)

what a great capture, I try to catch shots of hawks all of the time, but they are very skidish, everytime I get half way close enough to get a good shot they are gone. very nice image

This is incredible, an absolutely outstanding image! He probably sees you and is ready if you make the wrong move. Let's hope he doesn't run into a Kingbird. I don't know if you have seen this but it is a Kingbird attacking a Red Hawk. Amazing picture and story. You have got to see this; http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_13452818

Excellent capture. We had a sharp-shinned hawk visit our fish pond during the summer, and of course, I didn't have my camera, but he sat for a long time staring at me, motionless, and I knew if I bolted to get my camera, he would have left. So we just had a stare down for a long while. :o)
