Description

Red Bull Crashed Ice Crashed Ice is a winter extreme sporting event sponsored by the Red Bull energy drink, which involves downhill skating in an urban environment, on a track which includes steep turns and high vertical drops. Competitors, having advanced from one of the tryouts in the prior months, race in heats of four skaters, with the top two advancing from each heat. Racers, typically ice hockey players, outfitted as such, speed down the course’s turns, berms, and jumps in a sport that fans describe as a mix of hockey, downhill skating and boardercross. 2010 will be a World Championship with two races set for Munich (GER) in January 16th for the eastern hemisphere and Quebec (CAN) for the western hemisphere in March 20th. Since its creation, this event was in: Stockholm, Sweden (2000), Klagenfurt, Austria (2001), Duluth, Minnesota, United States (2003, 2004), Moscow, Russia (2004), Prague, Czech Republic (2005), Québec, Canada (2006,2007,2008,2009 et 2010), Helsinki, Finland (2007),Davos, Switzerland (2008), Lausanne, Switzerland (2009) and Munich Germany (2010). Red Bull Crashed Ice Le Red Bull Crashed Ice est une compétition de patinage extrême bi-annuel sur un parcours contenant des sauts, des virages serrés et des pentes abruptes. Ce sport est appelé le Ice Cross Downhill ou « patinage de descente extrême » en français selon l'OQLF. Les compétiteurs doivent faire preuve d'habileté, d'agilité, de courage et de sang-froid pour pouvoir participer à cet événement. Cet événement a été créé par Red Bull et été présenté pour la première fois à Stockholm en Suède. Depuis, l'événement est tenu à chaque année dans différentes villes de l'Amérique du Nord et de l'Europe. Depuis sa création, l'évènement s'est déroulé à Stockholm, Suède (2000), Klagenfurt, Autriche (2001), Duluth, Minnesota, États-Unis (2003, 2004), Moscou, Russie (2004), Prague, République tchèque (2005), Québec, Canada (2006,2007,2008,2009 et 2010), Helsinki, Finlande (2007), Davos, Suisse (2008), Lausanne, Suisse (2009) et Munich (2010). je ne sais si le sport amène l'argent ou si l'argent amène le sport, mais quand il s'git de sport professionnel, l'argent amène l'argent...et malheur aux sportifs qui se blessent, l'argent s'en fout ! par contre une création interessante !
