Description

A simple scene to test the posing of the Queen Anne musket project's sling and the cutlass. Still have a way to go but at least it is useable with a bit of tweaking. The cutlass needs more fitting work to the baldric so I substituted the Scalawag belt instead. work still... Assets include: dforce Deck Hand Outfit by DAZ Originals, Barbara Burton, Moonscape Graphics, Sade Deck Hand Hair by DAZ Originals, 3DCelebrity Licorne by Faveral Sky by Orestes Queen Anne Musket by Eltuco3D and Precogplasma Blackbeard Cutlass by Eltuco3D and Precogplasma ManFriday's Mesh Grabber by Riversoft

Looks just like we would imagine the scene in days gone by. Historically this is a real pleasure to view. Your weapons show great promise!

Thanks Stevie - lot of work but worth it as the period is great and while popular still has room to explore.

Amazing detail to accompany your musket, reminds me of an illustration for Treasure Island, super work on the musket belt as well as the musket

Thanks! Musket is pretty good to go but sling is still a little tricky to pose - tweaked it with Mesh Grabber. We'll get there then work on accoutrements - cartridge box or powder horn and shot bag.

Musket sling took a bit of pushing and shoving but it works. Thanks virgin!

Thanks Smile - the musket required a lot of work to get right - correctly shaping a gooseneck flintlock hammer is a trickier than one might suppose. Started out wanting to do the 1817 "Common Rifle" as I have one myself and used it as a character asset in a novel but the community interest in pirates quickly led me astray. Fortunately we had a set of photos from a surviving QA martial piece that helped. Lots of unique bits and bobs when compared to later Ordnance Board muskets (Brown Bess). I think Merlin did a set of Georgian OB flintlocks.

The Orestes sky put an unusual glow to the whole piece. The reddish ones really bring out post apocalyptical scenes as well. Highly recommend Orestes and the Licorne ship asset for pirate and nautical scenes. Nothing else comes close to the latter.
