MH17 was an appalling, avoidable tragedy, for which no amount of justice will compensate. I feel great pity for the moron who pulled the trigger. Us humans still have our tribal genes and until those are eradicated, along with ego & greed, then senseless acts like this will continue.
In the meantime the aviation industry will continue to launch millions of us safely to our destinations, with ever increasing advances in technology & efficiency and, not withstanding the environmental impact, it is something to be proud of.
Here are some photos of Airbus' latest craft to enter service, which, as I live a couple of miles from where the Rolls-Royce engines are made in Derby, UK, flew over my house on a "thank you" pass a couple of days ago. Flying so low, it scared the heck out of me on the first pass, where it tipped its wings, then I ran into the house to get my camera for the second pass.
Some of the shots I was too close using a 600mm lens, but it was unexpected to me so had to do the best I could. And yes, that is the pilot you can see in the last photo.
Thanks for looking & thoughts to the victims families.

Up until last year we lived about four miles from Boeing's Everett plant, which meant we were frequently treated to aviation test flights. Imagine the Dreamlifter flying low right over your house. LOL! I never got shots anywhere NEAR as good as these! Too little time, too many trees, yada yada. This is an outstanding series!
