. Promises. The reckless lies of unstable, parasitic humans. False hope and deception. This frail, dying human pleads for one last hope in the arms of an unfeeling monster. I am The Last Monster. I will not feel. Nothing can make me feel. "I promise," I heard myself say. And she clung more tightly, weakly to me, exhausting her failing strength.
