Description

Three years ago my wife and i spent some part of our honeymoon in the Krabi area of southern Thailand. I tried my best to convey at least some of the beauty of that region.... The plants in the foreground are my own models.

Wow Erka! Beautiful textures, and the vegetation looks awesome on top of the cliff there. Spectaular pic my friend, but please tell me thats a REAL sky, if you created that with Vue, I'm giving up LOL...

Excellent picture ! It was agreat idea to use a bitmap instead of Vue sky - it give your scene an original look (and it is almost impossible to properly model cummulus clouds in vue ) - get my vote :-)

Outstanding image! The terrain material looks excellent. Was the sky picture added within Vue or as a post-render composite?

Oh Kutter, just don't give up :) Of course the sky is a texture mapped to an alpha plane! As Czarnyrobert said, there's no way of getting this kind of cloud formation out of Vue's sky system. (Not yet, at least.....)

that one evokes magnifico reminiscences, thanks, erka! loved that beach (been there 15 yrs. ago) and love your image - though i realize you moved that central - western - rock sitting in front of beach http//www.hes.fn.bw.schule.de/9schueler/benjamin-thai/pranang%20beach%201.htm into the southern end of beach http://www.hes.fn.bw.schule.de/9schueler/benjamin-thai/pranang%20beach%202.htm :D fabuloso image, anyway, ilikes! that sky looks like its at home there, too.

you wave a very magic wand eran..vegatation and modelling of the plants is great..i cant see past your previous image at the moment ..though this is quite excellent..like the mapped clouds in this image..but sometimes i reckon they deaden the atmosphere somewhat...but thats just my view and i'm nearly always wrong lol...it must have been a great honeymoon..:)excellent stuff+vote

Oh wow! I've been there too and remember the islands of southern Thailand very well. This image reminded me of them as soon as I saw it. This is beautiful! I love the depth in the trees and the vegation under them as well as at the top. It's so realistic. And that sky!!! WOW! Yup this one has my vote too.
