Description

During a recent storm, this 30" diameter oak tree was broken from its base, taking down power lines and closing local traffic lanes for hours. Whether wind or electrical energy broke this healthy tree would be a guess, noting that wind "usually" uproots and lightning would leave searing marks as it burned to the earth. Preliminary news reports "vote" for lightning, but I believe a strong gust of wind attempted to make a parasol of the tree canopy.
