Aaah, finally learnt how to make good galaxies due to a tutorial, a really old tutorial, lol ironic, for this tough i used several particle flows..
6 for the arms (if i just had 3 and had em go out on both sides then one side would have the particles too close to the center ^^)
6 "large stars", in a diverged arm formation
6 "small stars", in a more diverged arm formation
And 3 for the core, 1 for gas, and 2 for the large and small starclusters.
The clouds or "starclouds" have about 6 different random materials, just to keep some color variation within the whole galaxy.
And a glow filter of course.
100% in 3ds max.
I know there are some people here that have made galaxies using hundreds of thousands of stars, and added a glow filter to those particles, making crazy rendering time but nice results, i decided to have actual cloud particles instead, since i simply think it looks better..
I will however start working on one with JUST tiny stars, to see how it turns out, damn this 1 upload per day thing! Go to my "Sponsor" page if you dont wanna wait.
There are 22000 stars in this one, with 1000 cloud particles. Enjoy :D
