Description

First, I would like to thank everybody for the nice comments I received on my latest two compositions: RAKIS and O-PHARES. POTEMKINE is a assemblage of the spirit/atmosphere surrounding the historical uprising over the battleship Potemkin. I wanted to represent this with a pseudo-abstract war scene in which I add the elements representing the sparks that ignite this russian revolution. Thanks! Etienne Saint-Amant www.chaoscopia.com

Hi Etienne, Yes, Marleen and I have the movie on VHS tape from the "The Battleship Potemkin" from Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein. What great scenes he could create in those days. I remember some of those scenes, when I saw the movie (as a child) the first time on TV in 1959. Truly a very great movie director. http://www.carleton.edu/curricular/MEDA/classes/media110/Severson/eisenste.htm . And you created a very nice and great still of it. Wishing you all the best and lots of succes.

Really good composition, amazing really. I had already decided that this was a battle scene of ships and waves, the sparks and glow of cannon fire. Your description matched it perfectly, Thank you, Will (barringhupite)

Again I see Turner - his painting of the slaveship and of those poor souls abandoned and lost to the watery deep.
