Description

Ultrafractal 4.04 Well I just couldn't leave the geofractals alone! A guy e-mailed me for tips on using the IFS Barnsley+Jock III formula (jock.ufm) and that got me all fired up again. So I dug through some wip's and got all wound up and this is what happened. Liked it so much I just HAD to show somebody, so... It's got a vibe sorta like a sinking ship and the first thing that came to mind was the Potemkin. Googled and found that the ship didn't sink but was the site of a famous mutiny over lack of food allowed to the sailors. But the name stuck because I like the sound of it, it IS a ship, and also I think it's the name of the starship Chekov becomes captain of in one of the Star Trek movies so "Potemkin" it be - lol. Thanks for stopping by and for SO much wonderful support and encouragement for so many years. You have no idea how much y'all have meant to me... Rick :-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints and embellished prints are also available*** :-) ***This image is solely the copyright of Richard B. You're right that the Potemkin was one of the starships; not sure if it was Chekov's though. Back to topic: above image. Got hooked on Barnsleys myself this year so I can relate. I always see those amazing lines and textures in your work. The longer I look the more details I see that make me realize that this one has a lot of hours in it. Wonderful piece.

An excellent geofrac! I like the lines and colors. The lower portion is like water so I can see how you arrived at seeing a ship.

Beautiful! Very finely composed to alternate between calmness (top), action (centre), and an eddying (Well, only the bottom is left - but is it left if it's at the bottom [sorry, joking]). There is a very ancient movie around somewhere, dating back to the days before colour was used. It too is quite famous.

This is so rich and deep. It strongly reminds me of Gris and Braque. http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/gris/music/guitar18.jpg http://www.rollins.edu/Foreign_Lang/Russian/popova.jpg I love your experiments, and you really do exemplify fractal art as a true art form. Kudos

A really wonderful image Rick, and I love how Star Trek seems to seep into other areas! Can't keep a trekkie down. Lea
