Description

Hello:) Something very different today. That's a portrait I've recently made just for practicing in charcoal at the Academy of Realist Art. It was was made from a photo reference: http://www.allgraphica.com/PortraitReference.jpg NB: Visit this photographer website: http://www.piskaryov.com/ The idea was to make it as closer to the original as possible. It was a great experience and I took a lot of pleasure doing it while learning the medium. Medium: Generals Charcoal, Farbriano Artistico white paper.

Superbe, je trouve même votre oeuvre plus belle que la photo, notamment au niveau de l'expression de la bouche.

Excellent work. I've never really understood the need for sight-size in the world of photographic references, but you've illustrated the value of the discipline admirably.

Absolutely brilliant! Its so wonderful to see you posting again...and now you've gone and made me wistful for my canvas and paint again. sighs Sadly, pain issues no longer permit me to play with real media, so I content myself with Painter now, but I have to admit, this one makes my fingers twitch :P I cant wait to see what they have you do next! :)

A wonderful example of a wonderful medium; although, I used to do colored pastels. (Can't any more, because of coordination problems.) Lovely work.

Excellent work. Your drawing resembles very much the woman in the photograph. I tried long ago to draw in charcoal and all I got was dirty hands! 8-)

That is just so lovely and delicate - superb work! It surely can't be charcoal - where are all the smudge marks!! (Well it would have them if I'd done it...) Instant fav!

Larissa, you are a master. Seeing your work like this and Aerah literally brings tears to my eyes, knowing what this means to you, all you have gone through for it, and what you have accomplished. Thank you for posting this work... it means much more than it appears to.
