Description

Thank you all for the constructive comments on the original "Peril at the onset'! I tried very hard to incorporate all of them in this final version. I have to say though that unfortunately I could not show more of the dragon and lost some of the feel regarding one of the characters, my favorite. Though I can not say why, this character seems to bring out something that perhaps is missing in my life and I wish I could have presented him better in this image. Artimus, is a merc but of high caliber and engages his services only for those causes that have merit for all rather than the one. He is well versed in the art of bow as well as sword. I tried to give this character equal billing but the rework took away from that, in keeping with his values he has taken backstage to the greater cause, that cause was incorporating the many suggestions. Perhaps one day I will give him the forefront with his own setting. I hope that this meets with your approval. Thank you for your comments and taking the time to have a look.

All in all, still quite an image. It looks a little too dark, but that my just be my monitor. Good render and story development.

Nice work. You could crop it to include just the dragon head and the girl to make it all the more dramatic.

Excellent improvements! I can relate, I came up with a fighter a while back and gave her 3 friends and the whole render kept crashing so I scrapped it. Wanted to keep her, so I rendered her seperately and she turned out to be "cute" not that there's anything wrong with that, I intended her to be fierce and it didn't turn out that way ^_^ Her replacement ended up turning out better for the scene but my little fighter with the biiiig sword is still my fav ;)

great angle, I think more lighting contrast, and bump maps might help all of the textures stand out in this render! Also, if you want to save time rendering, I'd suggest rendering each model separately, without the background, as a .png file...that way you have a transparent image that you can position and use additional lighting effects in a graphic editing program, such as Photoshop!

DLG... I had to look back at the previous entry to guage the differences, and I think this one is much improved. I agree that the lighting needs more contrast, perhaps a distant light at low intensity would brighten things up some. As far as Artimus is concerned, I'm sure you'll be using him again, and more central to the scene. I look forward to seeing it. Whatever you decide to do, be it change things again, or leave it as is and move on to the next project... the POV is exactly where it should be! Though it doesn't show that much of Artimus, it definately does show off the other 3 cast members well! Well done...

DLG This looks much better than the first! The poses look good, the lighting looks fine on my monitor. The only thing I see that I would change about it is the way she is looking up at the dragon. She doesnt really seem to be looking at him per say. She looks like she is looking more at the sky than at the dragon. Overall I think it turned out well!

DLG :) Opened up both renders in a seperate window and clicked back and forth, and again, and again.. :) The shadows and POV are MUCH better!! The scene is 'alive' now!! Agree ont the third character who we barely do see now.. See also that he cannot be moved without corrupting the scene.. Awesome dragon and can't help but notice the girlwarrior is gorgeous.. :)

Dlg, Well after having looked at both of the images, the lighting/shadow's are much improved.. The posing in this scene was alway's really good I thought!! It is a good thing the little lady has such skilled and dedicated guardian's at her disposal.. :) Have you considered bringing the dragon in at more of a side angle to them?? Not certain if it would work, on the image I had been working on I was going to try that!! But still had to render a distant scene to get all three character's in it..

DLG- - -> Better than the first. I think her position is quite odd but adds a touch of drama. Nice!

DLG... Nice work positioning the characters. The dragon in my opinion, is covering up way to much of the scene.
