Taken at sunset several weeks ago from our campsite in Florida near Pensacola. This is looking west across Perdido Bay.

Reminds me of the beautiful sunsets I could see from the bedroom window at home in San Francisco. I've often wondered about the name Perdido Bay - perdido as in lost. Did someone get lost? Or was the bay "lost"? Or was something lost? It sets my mind spinning. So, I go back to daydreaming about home and beautiful sunsets to the tunes of Samuel Barber's Serenade for Strings. Keep up the good work even if you made me a bit homesick and nostalgic! :-)
When you first posted this, I thought of Lake Michigan, which just goes to show that sunrises and sunsets over water can look similar in many places. A big sweeping tranquil sunset capture, and I like that you kept the trees and the foreground in total black (or postworked to that hue), because it allows the sunset hues to predominate. And you got some contrails which match the sweeping clouds (cirrus maybe? see I know a few cloud names!). Everything's right about this, it has the low sweep, intense colors in a thin band surrounded by the darker colors everywhere else, and your blacks dominate the foreground as happens in low sunsets. A beautiful sunset shot from you, Bill.
