Description

The corridors are a winding maze, but the air is becoming less and less stale leading me to believe we are nearing the surface. Titan seems to have formed an obsession with Crete, he is continually at his side. I'm not sure however if Crete knows he is there, he makes no gesture of acknowledgement. This however does not deter Titan in the slightest. We stop, everyone seems ok with the idea. You need to break up the repetitiveness of it all, resting briefly will do everyone good. "Can I talk to you for a minute?" Asks Kortt in a soft tone. "Of course I reply." We move off away from the others, I wonder what he has to say that the others can't hear. No one seems to notice or care that we have moved off so he continues. "Tate. First I want to say what an honor it has been to meet you, your a good man. My time among you however is done, I need to move on. I'm glad I was able to assist you in freeing Hayden but they're going to be consequences for our actions. I need you to understand that but don't want you to worry, I will harbor the blame..." "What? I don't understand what your talking about." I say. "Tate. We gave the most powerful demon alive even more power when we handed him the grimoire. We are releasing back into society three ancient beings from a race of man that no longer exists. Trust me when I say our actions have been monitored closely and someone is going to have to answer for it" "Then that should be my burden to bare. I pushed for this when you advised against it. These actions today our my fault not yours." I say. Kortt puts his hand on my shoulder and smiles. "No Tate. I need something else from you that is more important. Now listen closely." He then begins to whisper in my ear, I can't lie this leaves me a little uncomfortable but I continue to listen. I owe him that. "I need to know I can trust you with my heritage, your the only man alive that knows Crete is my father. You don't understand why I want it kept a secret but I have my reasons, I will tell him when the time is right. Can I trust you with this?" I nod. "Ok then. Next is guiding them through this new and unknown world. I need you to protect them from it and most importantly protect them from themselves. I need you to be their conscience, help them see the path when they cannot see it for themselves. You will need to step up to do this Tate. Crete and Hades are extremely strong willed individuals, and though I haven't been able to get a clear grasp on Grys... I still know its going take every ounce of strength you have to lead them. But I know you have it in you. The world is going to fear them. Not only because of their gray skin or their red eyes but also because of the gear they carry. Hear me Tate. The items they carry have NO equals in this time. They will be perceived as gods among men! I need you to remind them that they are just men. Can you do this?" "I can." I reply hoping to sound more confidant than I feel. "Lastly, your going to have to start sooner than you realize. I will take my leave when the opportunity presents itself and no one notices. I have to stay behind and ensure this tomb is never found by anyone ever again. The power and secrets contained within these walls is just to great. When Crete realizes I'm gone he is going to want to come back, you can't let him. I nod again. "Ok." I say. Kortt pats my shoulder and says... "Take this." He hands me a necklace that appears to be demonic in nature. It seems very old by its state of patina. "If you ever need my help again just grasp the medallion and call my name. But I caution you Tate, only call upon me in a time of dire need. As I have said I am not permitted to interfere in mortal affairs but you are my friend and I will deal with consequences if you need me." He then reaches out his hand, so I reach out mine and we shake, I feel honored to be considered among his friends. "Let's get back to the others." Says Kortt. We return to the group and began traveling once more. It saddens me to know that at any minute Kortt will disappear and it could very well be the last time I ever see him. I originally came to this tomb in search of a weapon capable of destroying pure evil. My heart tells me I found it, strangely enough it was in the form of a broken arrow.

I still like your story and the way you present it. I hope it will go on. I want to have a closer look on Hayden and Tate again.
