I have never touched any. it is very flexible in the wind, so it might be soft

Real waves here, one group bends one way, another bends another...and, in the right half, a tiny red bud! You caught the dynamics of these grasses---they sway in groups. And the beautiful beige-red tips (w/ seeds) are beautiful atop all that green. A sweet capture of that noble grass. And I love that bud!

Beautiful plant but its cuts from its leaves are nasty. They really sting. As a kid we were always getting cut by this stuff. I guess that is the definition of a 'dumb' kid.

I recall this as a nasty weed as well.
Made small cuts like paper cuts in the skin.
Ending up with a really bad itchy red rash.
Ouch 😣
