Description
...yesterday while beachcombing, bird watching and walking Mandy along Ediz Hook we found hundreds/thousands of smoothly rounded and fairly flat river rocks.
...having long admired the amazing work of Rendo artist, NefariousDrO, I just had to try my hand at rock stacking:)
...and to add to the scene, a Yang Ming container ship just happened to be sailing by...actually sitting by waiting for the harbor pilot to come out and take over navigation responsibilites for movement from the Strait of Juan de Fuca eastward into Puget Sound and then southward to the Port of Seattle or Tacoma.

When I first viewed your photo, I thought I was looking at a container ship from Vancouver Island, but I see you're from USA. Nice gallery btw.

Well, I doubt if you will ever be as Nefarious as DrO (when it comes to Precarious piling of stones), but this is a good simulation of the container ship's stacking in the background! A rather amusing parallel here. Keep up the good work! :-)

Well, when I saw the title, Mike was the first person I thought of.. I like the way these are stacked with the container ship appearing from behind them. Nice shot and stacking job, Bill!

yes, a beautiful capture of the strange phenomena of rocks piled on top of each other. In the shot, they seem very heavy---hope you didn't get a hernia stacking them! They make a beautiful 'frame' for the picture, a focal point, even though the image goes back in space and covers all that water & sky. Do you know the work of Andy Goldsworthy? He made a film called Rivers and Tides, and I truly recommend it to both you & tara. It's basically him setting up 'nature art', in which he uses forms like this to make beautiful hand-made creations designed to decay with the forces of nature itself. It's a slow film, but even if you see just a few of his creations---made right in nature itself---you'll get the sense of his beautiful mind & heart, and how one can make art out of nature itself. This concoction reminded me of that, as do the beautiful structures in NefariousDrO's gallery. Hope you do more...
