Description

Just a little dentist joke. Comments and especially criticisms are welcome. Can anyone tell me the best way, aside from air brushing, to remove the 'ribbons' in the bottom left and right? Thanks. Cheers, Tim

This is pretty scary looking but I love it! Dark and mysterious, must be a very brave dentist. Sorry I can't offer any advice, I'd just airbrush it but I think it looks fine like it is.

WOW! Now THAT'S one wicked cool fractal, Tim - VERY different, too. I'm not sure what you mean by "ribbons" but if you mean the brown bit in the left bottom corner, MAYBE you could make what I call an "iteration mask" to lose just that area. If the coloring used has options for Iteration and Angle/Angle to Trap coloring modes, you can plug in a fairly "busy" gradient and then dork with the Color Density and Transfer Function to see if you can get that area to be a color unique from the others in the gradient. Then just insert control points in the opacitay band and yank that color transparent and use the layer to mask out that spot. It's pretty tedious work and it might be even tougher because I think I see that color repeated elsewhere in the fractal where you'd probably want it to stay. Sometimes helps to uncheck Repeat Gradient, too. Good luck! It looks fine to me as is but I know how artists are - picky folks ain't we? lol

Tim: My advice is leave the image "as is". I like it the way it is and has a very mysterious look.

I agree with Til 100%. Very original, mysterious piece of fractal art.

A most impressive composition! I like it a lot, even with this dark mood in it.

very deep, yes, and from a unique point of view. rykk says he sees brown, but i see only greys in the corner.does this mean i miss a lot of colors from everyone?

This is really strangly wonderful. I think the ribbon shapes are very much part of the formula you have used and I'm not too sure how easy it would be to remove them without changing the whole shape. These ribbon shapes are repeated everywhere in the fractal. I think they are perfectly fine and I see nothing wrong. The only way you could possibly remove them is by changing the settings in the formula you have used. If there is a bailout option available to tweak I'd start there. Or try changing other settings. All layers will need to be changed. Anyway its superb as it is.

Outstanding fractal, I like your style because you use fractals pottencial in a very creative and imaginative way. Chapo!

Oh, this is without a doubt my favorite in your gallery. That should be seen in a future Renderosity artbook. Oh, and can I say one thing about the Renderosity artbook... Why is it that virtually little or no true abstract work gets in it?
