I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

You accomplish alot of great work my friend, I still need to try reality now I have that 64 bit. Lighting is gorgeous like her Rod. And a outfit that "stiffens the old putter".

wowser! she is so sultry and highly desirable. I am working with one light right now, but will mine have your quality? I might accidentally get close

The one light was just enough to set the mood in this scene! WELL DONE!

Stunning image!! Looking up |"Rembrandt Lighting"
Who knew he was a Digital Artist!!! ;)

Yeah, I think he bought his computers from the local Da Vinci Outlet.... 🤣

A beautiful creation!

Magnificent experiment and stellar result! A truly magnificent portrait and character! Bravo and many fine kudos!!!
Madbat
Very nice render, I was just going to mention Rembrant as soon as I saw this one. Rembrant lighting heavily influenced Film Noir (chiaroscuro) because it is so dramatic, moody and striking. Nicely done!

Always amazed at what you do....One light? Fantastic !

First off, a magnificent scene. You manifested exactly what you imagined and that is a testament to your depth of skill. And now it is your turn to impart knowledge. Like donnena and Madbat, I will be hitting the books hard on Rembrandt lighting. The concept of 1-light lighting (I've come close with 2 using chiaroscuro) intrigues me to the core. At first blush, I imagine the background could not be black in order to eliminate a rim but then again why not just a rim? Enough of that. I'm studying out loud !!
My one question is your thinking behind using PS to place the background? Why not place the same background in the scene directly?
Marvelous work, Rod. And inspiring. :-)
P. S. "...the local da Vinci outlet." lmao

A fine light study :) , and yes, one can wonder why the Win7 to Win10 upgrade was called an "upgrade" heh ;) , better stay off that scheme. Much more safe to make a fresh install of Win10 !

Love the color and depth it created, nice one!

Nice one Rod. I like how her skin turned out. I always treat lighting as another "character" in a scene--too much, too little or misdirected will kill a scene. I actually spend more time on the lighting than other aspects of a scene--combined. All of my outdoor scenes use only one light with IDL and Envirosphere. Indoor scenes are another matter, but once again using IDL, which in Superfly takes lots of rendering time, but the end result is worth that time. Chiaroscuro is a wonderful lighting effect, lending drama to what otherwise could be a blah scene. Look forward to your future experimentation, perhaps with Superfly :)

Nice job Rod......the lighting looks perfect!

Great job, Rod! Lighting is so key to getting a great render and it is worth experimenting with IMO. In fact I made an amazing discovery. I get my best renders with no lights. Yes, everything is all black, and you cannot see a thing. But oh what I can imagine going on in the dark. :D
