This is the beginning of a rough trip to Skippers Canyon on the Shotover River near Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand. In 1862, two shearers (as in sheep), Thomas Arthur and Harry Redfern, discovered gold along the banks of the Shotover River. triggering a gold rush.
