Description

Dear friends, we detected this group of oldtime cars in the last summer 50 kilometers south of Berlin, when we came back from a daily excursion. They had to stop at a red traffic light beside, so I was able to find a parking place some miles away to let them pass by. All these cars are old british three - wheelers from the thirties of the last century, and their owners are organized in an maybe "exclusive" club. The car in the front is an original british MORGAN car with a 2- zylinder front engine from J.A.P (John Alfred Prestwich), a motor manufactory from U.K. The MORGAN manufactory was founded in 1909, and they began with the construction of threewheelers from the first day. The last MORGAN threewheeler was built in 1952. They were 7 cars in a group at this day, and I am sure they were all MORGAN Cars. Hope you enjoy this. Thanks for your nice comments for my last pic and a special thanks for the favorite. In a feww hours my trip to Spain begins. Bye, I´m back in two weeks. billcody

Wonderful to see these still going. They were notoriously unstable when cornering, and my mother used to say they were often seen in the ditch!

They do look very interesting! Very nice shot! I once rode around Vancouver in an old Morgan but it was a four wheeler not three.

Nice Morgan trio ! First and third car look to be genuine 1930s Morgan Threewheelers, however, the second one seems to be one of the new ( post 2011 ) Morgan cars. Peter

Great capture and info Wolfgang. Old British sports cars were in vogue in the US and Canada in the late 50's and 60's. Seemed like everyone either had one or wanted one. I had an Austin Healey Sprite. I have never seen these three-wheelers before and I am sure they weren't the most stable machines on the road, but being the owner of a classic British sports car doesn't just mean driving it, it means living with its quirks, fixing it, and tinkering around with it. But that is part of the fun. I would have stopped and taken pictures of these classics too!.
