I couldn't agree with your thoughts more during this sad time, Rod. We need to pay tribute to those innocents who were taken from their families, and become more resolved to stand up to those who killed them. There is a special place in hell for barbarians who could do such a terrible thing.

Did they intentionally shoot down an airliner? I don't think so; nothing to gain and lots to lose. Did someone make a major screw up? Yup, and on multiple levels: putting those weapons there, deploying them, training the crews, and then some fool gave the "fire" order without being sure of the target.
