My only relationship with flies has been with a flyswatter. But after seeing the many talented macros here,
I had to give this a try just once. Zoom in for details. Thank you very kindly for your views and comments.

Looks almost metalic, doesn't he or she as the case may be :-) Excellent detail and color. Can't say I like flies but this is a superb macro. Another thing for me to try my hand at. I'm in an area where there are a lot of ticks and chiggars...I wonder...no, I'm not going to try them today. Bill

some flies are beautiful colors but all seem to be a nuisance.they do make for many macro captures.yours is exceptional

I tend to swat them in the house but if they stay outside I don't hurt them intentionally, I may catch a few whilst driving a bit fast but the rest I leave alone. I do sometimes borrow them for a while to take their pictures but then they are released back outside. To say you don't like them you have done a sterling job with this one Maria, quite an outstanding macro I would say. Superb clarity and detail a wonderful metalic sheene to it, I have been trying to catch one of these green bottles today, I finished up with a tiny midge instead. Spectacular macro! Bravo!!!!!
