Description

something else... ;-D (not too happy about the 'sharpness' of the boy in the back, sorry. should have been f10?, but guess camera was still set to shutter speed priority. was switching 'all the time' ;-D) about the Qs... the ducklings are gone :'-((( all 9, bath duckie as well the last (brown) 1 was grabbed by a heron ma duck has left the spot 3 male mallards there today & 2 moorhens, nesting (but lots of ponds nearby, they are flying around) I don't know what they would have looked like as adults and I sure would have LOVED to know!!! the brown duckie probably would have turned into a copy of mom? it's not a swan my guess would be that the blond duckling would have turned white. would... (anyone??) ma duck wasn't 'overly protective', unfortunally! (!!!) bet she would have traded them all for a loaf of bread! I did consider taking ducklings home more than once. in order to save their lives. but assume that would have led to some serious territorial probs when bringing them back, thus not doing 'em a favour??? never expected these massacres though!!! remember the 'valentine' ducks perhaps? heard they had babies too, HAD! and saw 9 adorable chocolate/vanilla ducklings last week in the big pond. all seemed to have vanished 2 days later.

I think they are beautiful. Are these in a public area? Are they used to people? I have found a pond that I hope to get some shots of wild ducks. I know that is hard to do. So far, my duck pictures have been of rehab ducks. Nature is sometimes hard to deal with. Mostly I deal with orphans caused by humans.

de reflectie van het voorste eendje is super; ben het met je eens dat meneertje iets scherper had gemogen jammer dat jij nooit de camera-settings aanvinkt als je je foto upload, want nu weet ik niet op welk f-getal je deze "geschoten" hebt

Beautiful photo - the colors & markings on the one in back are special, but the two together & the reflections in the swirling water make a fine composition...

From the size of their eyes these look quite young. Sad to hear the herons got them all, here, and elsewhere. Now the herons will have to go find other food. This is a fantastically beautiful photo. The fellow in the back is an explosion of color! I assume you used a telephoto - depth of field is a bit short, but that doesn't matter all that much here. They are both quite clear. Keep up the good work! :-)

It's the hard law of nature! The strongest dominates the weakest always! You were lucky enough to capture them with your camera... Also this shot is gorgeous! :)

Why law of nature must be hard? I can`t understand that! Why life must be based on pain? I mean, Wouldn't be great if all living being could eat like plants do, instead of kill.
