Description
The far eastern edge of the Sunerian kingdom is a vast desert, barren except for several precious oases. At these oases the king has posted sentinels to guard the borders of the kingdom and the very valuable water found there. This sentinel is on his guard as strangers approach...one hand at ready on his sword, the other ready to work magic. For with a wave of his hand, the seemingly inanimate scorpions at his feet magically transform into clawing, stinging death for any trespassers or water thieves....

My thanks to Lynn (lwperkins) for giving me the opportunity to experiment with her new textures for prae's Euros outfit, Glorious Euros. The idea for this image actually came from one of the textures called Sun King, but I ended up using the Purple Reign texture because the color really popped in this scene.
Thanks also to my friend rogue29730 who tipped me off on masked layers for postwork in Photoshop. It sure makes postworking easier and more fun....there are nine masked layers in this image. Merci beaucoup, mon ami!

I wish I was as familiar with Photoshop as I am with Paintshop Pro XI, it's rather intimidating where PSPXI is a little more intuitive and user friendly but certainly not as powerful. Great looking image, I often do multiple layers with smoke FX and things like that or even motion blur on limbs when characters are firing weapons. Amazing how a few little things can really get an image to the next level, we certainly need to use all of them at our disposal... lol.
