Description
Something so special I've experienced in December 2017 :
With the bike I was going to pick up something about 20 minutes from home.
When I want to go back I felt that my rear tire was flat. Strange, because recently my bike got new tires.
I walked until I saw someone, and asked if that lady might had a bicycle pump for me. So, no.
Then I called Karel, so he could come and pick me up, walking was really too far. I was still on the phone, a man came from behind a house with a bicycle pump to me.
He wanted to help me, and offered me to repair my tire, after he had noticed that the tire immediately went empty again.
So I told that to Karel, and went with that gentleman back.
It was a foreigner, I hadn't told Karel, because then he would be worried. (have ever experienced something crazy with someone from Bangladesh).
So shy that I was, someone just repairing my tire.
It was a Kurd, 3 years in the Netherlands.
After a while his wife came out and asked me to come in, to have a drink.
So sweet!
I took off my boots, because I noticed that was normal. She wanted to make coffee for me, she really wanted that, but I didn't dare, then I chose a glass of water.
Her 6-year-old son also came. What a sweet people, in some way it was, if I had ended up in a movie.
If you had seen that. I entered the room through the kitchen, and I said spontaneously: "Oh, how beautiful".
It felt for me this way, even though I saw, there were cracks in the large black corner sofa.
We had such a nice conversation, Nisrin and I, and she suggested making a selfie.
Dan Youssef her husband came in, and he made this picture, unfortunately the picture is not good, but the event is. Oh, and yes, I took my purse to pay, but that was absolutely refused.
Epilogue:
When it was Sinterklaas here in the Netherlands, in early December, I went to them with various gifts, and they were so enthusiastic. I had to go get Karel, who was in the car, and we had coffee with delicious home-made cakes.
We also became acquainted with all their 4 children. It was so beautiful.
I hope they will soon come to us, such lovely people, though the language a bit of a hurdle, but that doesn't matter, does it?

from what my Bangladesh friends tell it it is extremely poor there, but all I have met seem like really good people.

What a wonderful story!
I have mainly foreign neighbours and they are all very nice. And, of course I have had over 80 student lodgers so far, many of them from distant lands.They are always interesting.

I thought I commented on this! (Maybe I wrote to you about it. Or maybe I just felt something, but didn't share it...) Well, ok, I'm here now. I loved your story. There are still loving people in the world. Loving strangers. It's hard to know if one should accept kindness from strangers; some people can be so cruel. (That's a problem in America.) But this family is obviously filled with love. And, since they're Kurds, they probably know a lot about cruelty, since the Kurds have been victims of cruelty for a long time in the Middle East. So they can appreciate love all the more. A beautiful story, and a beautiful picture: It doesn't matter that the photo isn't "studio quality": It has all the sincere love and happiness of your story, and that makes it special. (Were you able to eat any of their food and desserts? I assume they eat Middle Eastern cooking...although I don't know anything about Kurdish food...) Beautiful upload. And fitting for just after Christmas...
