great image and fascinating information

A terrific image. I can see rivers and valleys and sand dunes. Its quite the landscape. I have much the same and with the beard some forested areas as well. I knew about the hand/fist salute but not in so much detail. Excellent information.

Great information. Like the image too.

I was familiar with the gesture, but vaguely; now I understand why they use it. (Showing that the hands are not in any way threatening.) I love your hands here, their experience shows in your postwork and the light and shade. You have articulate fingers, as if you played piano all your life (well I assume you play some, right, because you have one; and you've been gardening for years, and you're an artist. Drawing, using the brush, etc.) Love the purple background (your top). And the tight crop. I always love pictures of you, however you take them; and this is a great addition.

(I can't help but think of Cleese, in Fawlty Towers, when he's gesturing to an angry customer that he's gonna get tough on someone; and he makes this gesture---only he's slapping his fist in his hands, as if to say, "I'll get that guy!" Just the opposite of what you're showing here, but it came to mind immediately...) (he's at the age where he says whatever he damned pleases, and it's a riot. He referred to Eric Idle's wife---to Idle's face---as "that dreadful woman". You gotta respect someone who does that!)
