Description

based on a image from one of m. shirows artbooks. ive used a combination of 3d render and regular painting techniques like shirow is using. ive used a mechanical pencil on regular printerpaper,and scanned it. colored in photoshop (workpiece contains more than 40 layers). ive studied lots of work in progress pieces of shirow lately,and found some interresting ways to get some of the effects he is using. but creating something that looks so clean and perfect like his stuff is almost impossible...

Wow! That is awesome. A few things that could be changed though; the blurs on the lights on her suit stand out a bit too much I think. Also, like sean said, the hair needs some more definition, also the face seems a little flat, I think some sharper shadows and highlights would help with that. But still, it's an excellent image, and I wish I were as good as you :) Joseph

First off, this is just an overall beautifully done picture. A quick glance says "professional" all over it. Beautiful job. The only weakness my humble self can see is the hair... the areas closer to her head are a bit too blurry, as they'd not move as much and wouldn't be affected as severely by a motion blurr, however, that's a bit nit-picky. It's always great to see an example of such nice work/style here.

well don't be to hard on yourself man, shiro has been at it for over a decade ya know ;) it looks good, and you have even captured his facial features pretty well. i am assuming you have been digging through his last 2 artbooks-blades and -balistic for reference. good stufff all around cheers (now make more :D )
