For years now advanced home theatre options have offered big advantages over what our local cinema theatres could offer. Some of those advantages are obvious enough but we'll let our Nancy fill us in on a few more advantages home theatre has over the local theatre experience... 'Right, so you can: Build up your own home theatre either as simple and basic or as elaborate as you like, as big a screen as you want, just stereo or surround sound with or without Atmos, The food is better. You're not limited to just stale hot dogs and warmed over popcorn the movie theatres offer and you don't have to put up with their outrageous snack bar prices. You get to have what you want and save a tonne of money there. No need to worry about some random moviegoer's cellphone ringing in the middle of the show, disrupting your movie experience. If it's just you and your mate and the two of you wanna smooch and make out? Go for it. No need to worry about another moviegoer in there blowing your cover. Fart if you have to and as loudly as you want and without risk of embarrassment. If you get a text message during the show you can tell them you're at the movies and you'll call 'em later. If ya have to get up and go pee just hit the pause button and go take care of business. Movie theatre ain't gonna pause a movie just for you and what usually happens is you end up missing the most important pivotal part of the movie while you're away. So you get happy, no-rush peeing in a rest room where you won't have to who or what sat on that seat before you. When the movie is over you don't have to fight the traffic and the crowd because you're already home. Thanks to the pandemic forcing our local cinemas to close for way too long now and add to that advanced home theatre along with first-run movies being offered on streaming platforms in 4K resolution, no less, the local cinema business model is dead.
