Description

Because my broken ankle wasn't healing my doctor recommended applying an "external fixator" to stabilize my leg.... But I didn't expect this monster! If you can't tell from the picture, it's 10" wide, made of metal and feels like it weighs a ton! Just the latest in a series of distractions delaying me from completing the new series I've been working on.

That looks like so much fun to wear. I hope it helps. Will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for your kind thoughts! Yeah... Its a real ball... as in ball and chain! However, once my leg heals from the surgery, I can supposedly put weight on it so I can get up out of the wheelchair for short distances.

That does not look like any kind of fun at all! If I saw them attaching this to my leg, I'd be telling them where the troops are, how many airplanes we have, and all kinds of stuff. Yikes!

Thoughts and prayers for you, and your quick recovery, my friend!

Thanks for your kind thoughts! I guess that's why they knock you out for the surgery, so you can't stop them mid way and tell them you changed your mind.

Wow !! It is really impressive, I wish you good luck and a lot of patience, I send you positive waves.

I don't receive notifications of my favorite artists' publications anymore, I hope I don't forget anyone.

Ouch, that looks bad, I hope that the procedure will also be of some use, I broke my left ankle (shin and fibula) in 2013, everything had healed well so far (despite the four screws), but unfortunately I can't still walk properly! I wish you all the best!

Thanks for your kind thoughts! I've been told they will likely have to fuse my ankle in the future, but for now I just hope this contraption lets it heal. Its been three months already and there's still no significant improvement. I can supposedly but weight on it now, but it hunts like heck when I do... hopefully it will easy up once I heal a little from the surgery. But it's a 10" wide x 15" long anchor that makes it really hard to do anything.

Thanks for your kind thoughts... I can use all I can get! As for the ouch... it only hurts when I put my full weight on it, but then it hurts like heck.
