Description

This is Chester. He's my Treeing Walker Coonhound, and my sweet baby. I just realized the other day that I have uploaded photos of only two of my dogs, and I've somehow missed Chester. So here's my biggest boy. Chester was recently diagnosed with fibrous carcinoma. However, the vet thinks they've removed it all. He goes in next week for x-rays to confirm this. Hopefully they'll show no more cancer, and he'll be fine. Please wish him luck! Update: Chester went for his x-rays and the vet didn't find any more cancer. As of right now, he's doing fine. Yea!! Wikipedia, "The Treeing Walker Coonhound is a breed of dog descended from the English Foxhound, first recognized as a separate breed in 1945. The breed began when a stolen dog of unknown origin, known as "Tennessee Lead", was crossed into the Walker Hound in the 1800s. Treeing Walker Coonhounds are extremely fast, agile, and tireless in the pursuit of game and very affectionate." But that can we see from the photograph!

We recently got our first Treeing Walker Coonhound. Thunder is a wonderful addition and a sparkling personality in the house. She's only 5 months old now and just beginning to settle down a bit but I don't think I've met more endearing breed. I've always been a fan of hounds and also have a doxie, but TWC have a very strong character that I can see in this portrait you have done. Marvelous portrait and I know he is a fantastic companion.

How cute and what a peaceful expression! One of my dogs years ago had to undergo cancer surgery as well. After that, she lived until she was 16. Chester just looks like you give him lots of love and care. Beautiful dog!

Oh, sweet face Chester!! Such a great shot. I do hope he is clear of all cancer. I know he's been through a hard time and I hope it's finished with that and he will get a clean bill of health. All my best to Chester.
